Flora Poste, fascinated by the little she knows of the Starkadders of Cold Comfort Farm, considers visiting them.

Flora has moved into Cold Comfort Farm and has begun to size up the Starkadders.
3.Doom
July 6, 1968.
Flora, helped by Reuben, has planted the idea of a preaching tour in Amos's mind. On returning from Elfine and Richard's engagement party she finds the Starkadders' counting unexpectedly in progress.
